Podiumsdiskussion über "Favorita" mit Michelle Steinbeck und Oliver Nachtwey
How does studying social sciences influence literary creation, and what social analyses can literature provide? In her novel Favorita, nominated for the Swiss Book Prize, Michelle Steinbeck presents a literary portrayal of contemporary life. In a panel discussion, the author and sociologist Oliver Nachtwey explore the interplay between science and literature. Michelle Steinbeck reflects on how her studies shaped her writing, while Oliver Nachtwey examines the relationship between literature and sociology from an academic perspective. Using Favorita as a reference, they discuss how literature conveys social phenomena and whether writing can be a form of political practice.
