On May 19, 2026, our panel discussion on “Scholarship in Times of Genocide: Resistance, Repression, Responsibility” will take place.
With this event, we aim to create a forum in which the actions of (Swiss) educational and research institutions since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza can be examined and critically reflected upon. A nuanced and critical engagement with the role of universities has often proven to be particularly challenging, not least because it is closely connected to fundamental questions of academic freedom. We consider these questions essential and would like to discuss and reflect on them during the panel discussion.
Throughout the event, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions.
