FIASKO SOLI-ABEND zu RAS LE BOL

Music/Concert

On September 30, we welcome rapper and activist Martial Pa‘Nucci at 8:00 p.m. at UG

Ras-le-bol is a nonviolent protest movement in the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville). The movement first gained political visibility in 2015, when President Denis Sassou Nguesso had the constitution amended, allowing him to run for president again. The movement focuses on human rights, social justice, and greater political participation by young people. It also opposes corruption, poor governance, and the permanent concentration of political power. Many of the founding members were artists and musicians, which is why rap, slam poetry, and film screenings play an important role. Ras-le-bol activists are regularly detained in the Congo. No prior knowledge of the movement is necessary for the event; Martial Pa’Nucci will introduce the movement and is open to answering any questions.

Afterward, there will be a concert, and the bar will be open.
