Since November 2024, new resistance in the form of hunger strikes has been steadily forming in the deportation prisons of Zurich and Basel. The inmates are fighting back against daily violence and harassment by guards, poor food, inadequate hygiene, and medical care. The deportation prison is just one of many facets of Switzerland's inhumane asylum regime.
With this film series, we try to take a look at other aspects of the torture that many people have to endure in order to have a supposedly "safe life in Switzerland."

At the end of the 1960s, during the economic boom, over 200,000 seasonal workers were brought to Switzerland every year, mainly to work in construction and catering. They were the buffer mass of the Swiss economic miracle, second-class people, employed for nine months, largely without rights. They had to leave their children at home. Some could not bear the separation and brought their children to Switzerland illegally
