FROM HARLEM TO BERLIN, KINGSTON TO BASEL, Performative Lesung Audre Lorde
In the living room of the feminist library, interdisciplinary artist Jasmine Tutum will create a sensory space in which the texts of US-American poet, essayist and activist Audre Lorde (1934–1992, in her own words:’Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet’) can be experienced. The event is planned as a shared listening connection: there will be a 45-minute block of concentrated reading and listening, but visitors are invited to come and go as they please and engage with the texts on display in their own way and at their own pace. The reading will be held in English.
