Live: Snailmate (US) + Taranja Wu (CH)

Music/Concert

After blowing the roof off in 2023, they’re finally back!

SNAILMATE
Synth-punk, grindcore-pop, nerd-rap from Phoenix, Arizona

+ TARANJA WU
Electronic synth-punk one-woman-show from Basel

SNAILMATE is a Phoenix-based musical duo composed of lyricist, singer, and synth-wizard Kalen Lander and drummer and backup vocalist Bentley Monet. Together, they create a sound that fuses synthpunk, grindcore-pop, and nerd-rap into an unpredictable and explosive experience. The band is known for their high-energy and impressive live shows. Having performed over a thousand times, Snailmate has built a passionate fanbase centered on inclusivity — their concerts are promoted as safe spaces for all genders and sexual orientations.

Snailmate has released two full-length albums – "Stress Sandwich" and "Love in the Microwave" – along with numerous EPs and singles covering a wide range of genres and topics. From songs about anxiety, isolation, and queer identity to party anthems about hot sauce, nostalgia, or wearing a bathrobe – nothing is off limits. The duo often uses humor and wit to tackle dark topics, saying: “We want you to know that you're not alone. Life is short, weird, and sometimes really crappy — so let’s have some fun.”

Armed with her guitar, a synthesizer, and a voice that “...could seduce the devil himself…” (Chuck Palahniuk), TARANJA WU weaves a tapestry of cheeky, funny, and downright twisted songs that will make you question your sanity.

A sound of seedy elegance and glamorous grit: punky, rattling guitar riffs, sawing synthesizers, relentlessly pounding beats, and randomly captured signals from outer space. Sound uncomfortable? It is! But you’ll still want to dance like crazy to it.

Get ready to embrace the darkness and let Taranja Wu’s twisted world consume your soul…
