In Switzerland, childcare centres are mainly run by the private sector. For childcare workers, day-to-day life is characterised by pressure to cut costs, excessive workloads and burnout, whilst parents are forced to pay exorbitant fees. As a result, Switzerland has one of the most inadequate childcare systems in Europe.

In this event, two childcare specialists (FaBe) from the grassroots organisation Trotzphase will talk about their working conditions. Together, we will consider what a publicly funded childcare system should look like, one that offers greater recognition, more time and better pay.
