Who writes His-Tory? Cyberfeministische Wikipedia-Schreibwerkstatt und Art-Talk
Fri 14 Nov 25 | All day
Free admission incl. snacks
Who writes his_tory? invites you to increase the visibility of collective work, women and non-binary people. To do this, we use Wikipedia as a multi-layered, ambivalent tool, as it remains the most visited non-commercial website worldwide.
Together, we edit articles by artists from a feminist perspective: How are female artists represented on Wikipedia, and how differently are they portrayed in the various language versions? Anyone who speaks several languages is invited to translate, update and adapt articles.
The workshop can be attended with or without prior knowledge of Wikipedia. Participants without prior knowledge will learn about the anatomy of Wikipedia, create their own account and learn how to edit Wikipedia. Those who already have knowledge can dive right in. Bring your laptop!
Programme:
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wikipedia writing workshop with a focus on self-organisation, artists and language versions
3 p.m. KASKO-Desktop Conversation with Rose Musyoki, art critic and activist
And then again from 7 p.m.
Wikipedia writing workshop
Bring your laptop and your friends <3
