The electorate approved the Basel2030 climate justice initiative with 56.7%. In the run-off question, the counter-proposal was accepted with a majority of 61.9%. With this result, climate justice, the polluter pays principle and "1.5°C" are written into the constitution as a guideline for state action! The desire of the people of Basel for consistent climate targets is great. Now it is about the implementation.
Measures for climate justice
We demand that emissions be reduced particularly quickly over the next 5 years. The population should be involved in the process and those who are particularly affected should receive additional support. It is important to move forward in many different areas, e.g. to immediately stop climate-damaging projects such as the Rhine tunnel, to promote innovative start-ups or to introduce further training for teachers to support them in communicating the climate crisis in the classroom.
We demand all this and much more. In the "Necessary Measures for Climate Justice and Net Zero by 2037" we have thought about what the implementation of the initiative requires. We have handed over the list of measures to the government and look forward to continuing to implement the initiative in the future. There is a lot to do.

Open meeting for women and genderqueer people
At Lilith, women and genderqueer people from very different parts of the world meet. We talk to each other about everyday and political issues that concern us. What we all have in common is that we know from our own experience what it means to be a woman or genderqueer person in a world characterized by social inequality and violence. Collective Climate Justice (vormals Climate Games Basel) ist eine Gruppe von engagierten Menschen verschiedener Hintergründe. Aus unserer Sicht sind Regierungen und profitorientierte Unternehmen nicht gewillt und nicht fähig die Klimakatastrophe und die massenhafte Umweltzerstörung zu stoppen. Es ist deshalb notwendig und wichtig selbst aktiv zu werden und zu einer Bewegung beizutragen, welche bestimmt für globale Klimagerechtigkeit kämpft.
Im Rahmen unserer letzten Aktionstage im Sommer 2019 wurden mit dem Hauptsitz der Credit Suisse am Zürcher Paradeplatz und dem Hauptsitz der UBS in der Aeschenvorstadt in Basel zwei wichtige Standorte des Schweizer Finanzplatzes blockiert. Hunderte Menschen blockierten mit ihren Körpern die Zugänge zu den Hauptsitzen der beiden Grossbanken und zeigen, was sie wollen: den Investoren der Klimakatastrophe, namentlich Credit Suisse und UBS, den Geldhahn zudrehen! Credit Suisse und UBS sind die Hauptverantwortlichen des Schweizer Finanzplatzes für die weltweite Klimakatastrophe. Zwar wird hier kein Öl gefördert und keine Kohle verbrannt, aber von hier aus werden derartige Projekte finanziert und dadurch erst möglich gemacht.

As active queer feminists we see a social responsibility for inclusion, visibility and public presence. Through a various programme around the 8th of March we want to draw attention to the different life experiences of women, trans* and queer people. We also want to show how plural feminism is and how variously feminism can be lived.
The fem*fest aims to be open to all people. For the events and workshops we do not charge an entrance fee (with one exception!), but a voluntary donation in order not to exclude any person due to their financial situation. We will also organise whisper groups for translations if necessary and explain the respective space policies (e.g. "for all gender", "error-positive space", "only women*lesben*inter*trans* people etc.) and ways of speaking (how do you want to be addressed: name, pronouns, gender...)!
UFO MINK meets every month in Basel. The main goal of the group is to support people who accompany others in crises and to reflect and work out collective ways of dealing with crises. We always take the time to exchange information about our condition in general and especially about our own support structures and situations.
UFO MINK emerged from the workshop series "Good for nothing" in Basel in autumn 2018. The series revolved around depressive experiences in resistant everyday life and tried to develop a collective approach to individual crises. Following this series of events, this group was founded to support support supporters and to promote collective approaches to dealing with crises. UFO MINK meets every month in Basel. The main purpose of the group is to support people who accompany others in crises and to reflect on and develop collective ways of dealing with crises. We always take the time to exchange information about our condition in general and our own support structures and situations in particular.
