END FOSSIL: OCCUPY schools and universities!
Between September and December 2022, we occupied more than 50 schools and universities around the world to #EndFossil.
It is important that we organize ourselves as youth at work, at university, but also at our schools! For a social ecology and the end of the fossil industry, as well as its influence on society!
Our 3 principles:
1. youth led - The occupations are organized by young people. All are welcome to join!
2. climate justice - The political framework behind the occupations is that of climate justice. We want an end to the fossil fuel industry in order to achieve climate neutrality and global social justice. We want to achieve our goal through a global and socially just process.
3. occupy until we win - Our intention is to occupy (high-)schools in a wide variety of locations, disrupting public life until our demands are achieved.
We take our inspiration from countless historical examples, such as the 2006 Penguin Revolution in Chile, the 2016 Primavera Secundarista in Brazil, the global mobilization in and after 1986, and many others that have shown us that young people have the power to change society from the ground up. Our goal is nothing less: we start as students, but we want the whole society to take action for climate justice.
We are unstoppable - Another world is possible! We will not give up until the fossil era is over!

The KASKO sees itself as a place of mediation and experimental, exploratory and processual art-making with an emphasis on the autonomy of the projects.
Als komplementärer Kunstort spielt das KASKO im Kontext der Basler Kunstinstitutionen eine eigenständige Rolle. Es funktioniert als flexible Struktur, in der Künstler*innen und Theoretiker*innen gemeinsam an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Vermittlung arbeiten und den Dialog zwischen Kunstschaffenden und Kunstinteressierten anregen. Ein zentrales Anliegen ist es, Künstler*innen und Kunstvermittler*innen Freiräume zu gewähren und sie dadurch zu fördern. Weiter sucht und pflegt das KASKO die Vernetzung und Kooperation mit städtischen und regionalen Initiativen und Institutionen und mit anderen unabhängigen Kunsträumen im In- uns Ausland. Der Ort selbst steht Künstler*innen und Kunstvermittler*innen als Freiraum und Experimentierfeld zur Verfügung. Zugleich steht das KASKO auch für ein solides und nachhaltiges künstlerisches Programm mit grossem Fokus auf Performance und anderen performativen Ausdrucksformen.

Wir sind eine kommunistische Organisation, die sich für eine grundsätzliche Veränderung der gesellschaftlichen Verhältnisse einsetzt.
Mit aktiven Sektionen in Basel, Winterthur und Zürich setzen wir uns in den Bereichen Arbeitskampf, Frauenkampf, internationale Solidarität und politischer Widerstand in Theorie und Praxis ein. Wir verbinden diese verschiedene Kämpfe und organisieren Veranstaltungen und unterstützen antikapitalistischen Widerstand auf der Strasse.

Critical Mass is a monthly mass bicycle ride that takes place on the last Friday of each month in cities around the world. It was started here in San Francisco in 1992 by cyclists and activists who wanted to increase the visibility of bicyclists and reclaim public space by making social use of the streets on a regular basis.
Die erste Critical Mass hat sich in San Fransisco im Jahr 1992 gebildet. Die Idee hat sich schnell auf der ganzen Welt verbreitet. Heute gibt es in über 300 Städten weltweit eine monatliche Critical Mass.
Die Critical Mass hat keinen Organisator. Wenn am vereinbarten Treffpunkt die kritische Masse erreicht ist, fährt die Masse los. Es ist keine Route vorbestimmt. Wer zuvorderst fährt, bestimmt die Richtung.
Wer sich mit seinem Fahrrad in den Verkehr begibt, setzt sich täglich grossen Gefahren aus und wird als minderwärtiger Verkehrsteilnehmer marginalisiert. Finden sich jedoch hunderte von Velofahrer*innen, um gemeinsam eine Rundfahrt zu machen, so können sie dem motorisierten Verkehr auf Augenhöhe begegnen.
Die Critical Mass blockiert die Strasse nicht absichtlich. Durch die hohe Anzahl Teilnehmer*innen entsteht kurzfristig ein Stau. Im Gegensatz zum motorisierten Verkehr, der tagtäglich unsere Strassen versperrt, handelt es sich hierbei um einen Stau ohne jegliche Umweltverschmutzung. Zudem erlaubt dieser Stau eine soziale Interaktion zwischen den Verkehrsteilnehmer*innen, da sie sich nicht durch eine Karosserie isoliert sind.
Wo die Critical Mass auftaucht, erfahren die Autofahrenden, was den Velofahrenden täglich widerfährt: Das Auto wird zum machtlosen Gefährt, das sich den anderen Verkehrsteilnehmer*innen (hier Velos) unterordnen muss.
Während der Critical Mass wird der öffentliche Raum vorübergehend zurückerobert und wird zum Ort des sozialen Austauschs. Dadurch wird der Gesellschaft gezeigt, dass es sinnvollere Verkehrsmöglichkeiten gibt als den motorisierten Individualverkehr.
Die Critical Mass ist eine friedliche Veranstaltung.
