Vernetzungstreffen Queerfeministischer Aktivismus @SP!T

Exchange Meeting

Ag gender studies

How can we translate queer-feminist knowledge into action, and what might that action look like? How can we navigate the current global situation, build networks and gather strength? And what do we actually mean by resistance, solidarity and activism?
That is exactly what this event is about: four people with different activist backgrounds will share their experiences of queer-feminist activism in Basel. Afterwards, we want to come together in conversation, exchange ideas and encourage one another.
A cosy evening for anyone interested in exploring activism and queer feminism, organised by “Fachgruppe” Gender Studies.

Wed, 22.

Aktion zur Solidarisierung mit den Gefangenen im Hungerstreik

Action/Protest/Camp

Since 14 April, more than half of the prisoners at the Bässlergut deportation detention centre have been on hunger strike, and for the past two days, one person has been on a thirst strike. Their militant resistance is directed against Switzerland’s asylum and deportation regime – their demand: Liberté – Freedom. Let’s make them know that their struggle continues on the outside too!

We want to make those responsible for this inhumane prison regime feel that the struggle and our solidarity extend beyond the prison walls. It is not just the prison management, but also the government of Basel-Stadt that is to blame! That is why we are gathering before the start of the Grand Council session on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, at 8.45 am for a rally in front of the town hall on the market square. We won’t leave the prisoners alone – come and show your solidarity!

You can find more information and the prisoners’ demands on Instagram: @freemerou

🔥Let’s organise against a system that isolates people, strips them of their rights and makes them ill!🔥

Ghost Rider // Brunoï Zarn

Music/Concert

Brunoï Zarn, usually seen with BOUCAN, is dropping by on his absolutely final solo tour at the Capri

A one-of-a-kind solo set somewhere between rock, electro, punk, and noise. Here’s how this 1-hour set has been described:

"Brunoï Zarn’s ‘Ghostrider’ is more like an inexplicable, noisy-electronic, psychotic natural phenomenon somewhere between electro and punk than a regular gig. Raw sonic chaos in its purest and most beautiful form. A truly eye-opening experience. That this wall of sound is also entirely danceable and never boring is simply astonishing. A unique story, that!"

Antirassistischer Stadtspaziergang in Basel

Discussion/Presentation

For a long time now, migrants and people standing in solidarity with them in Switzerland have been fighting against racism, police violence, and deportations—as well as against death and suffering at Europe’s external borders.

But all too often, these stories are forgotten. On a walk through Kleinbasel, we will commemorate these struggles and learn from them. People who were directly involved will share their memories and experiences.

Let’s remember together and pass on the lessons of these struggles!

Teamgeist zeigen, «Human Song»

Exhibition

A discussion on taking and being photographed with Michael Arends (Sustainability & Social Affairs, FC Basel), players from the DreamTeam—FC Basel’s inclusive soccer team—and photographer
Stephanie Meier.
As part of “Human Song — Was uns zusammenhält”.

The exhibition features photographs of communities—whether formed by chance, by choice, or by decree. The photographs reveal that belonging is not a fixed state, but something that is constantly being redefined through everyday life and shared activities.
In contrast to an often negative media discourse that primarily emphasizes the divisive and difficult aspects of communities, this exhibition focuses on what unites us, without overlooking how fragile this structure can be at the same time.
The exhibition brings together different perspectives on community and invites visitors to engage in conversation about it. What becomes visible are not only formal visual arrangements, but also the social dynamics behind them: moments that create closeness, strengthen connections, or mark boundaries.
“Human Song – Was uns zusammenhält” encourages us to look more closely—at encounters, relationships, and the subtle interplay that makes community possible. An exhibition about what holds us together.

Fourth and final part of the series “In the Picture – Archived and Contemporary Photography in Dialogue”

Stephanie Meier and Rut Himmelsbach
Historical photographs:
