Stand up with Minnesota: Info-Event
Swiss banks such as UBS are not only investing billions in fossil fuels, but also in companies such as Palantir, GEO Group and AT&T, which fuel ICE’s mass surveillance, detention and deportation apparatus. The violence and oppression perpetrated by ICE have sparked global outrage and given rise to a strong and inspiring grassroots resistance movement.
As part of the Action and Solidarity Tour, two activists from Minnesota will visit Basel in April. They will talk about their resistance, report on the links to Switzerland and wish to engage in dialogue.

Konzert: Marco Papiro (CH/I, Synthesizer), «Human Song»
Concert: Marco Papiro (CH/I, synthesizer),
BelleVue transforms into an immersive concert venue with seating and lounging areas. Bar opens at 6:30 p.m., concert at 7:30 p.m.
As part of “Human Song — Was uns zusammenhält”.
The exhibition features photographs of communities—whether formed by chance, by choice, or by decree. The photographs reveal that belonging is not a fixed state, but something that is constantly being redefined through everyday life and shared activities.
In contrast to an often negative media discourse that primarily emphasizes the divisive and difficult aspects of communities, this exhibition focuses on what unites us, without overlooking how fragile this structure can be at the same time.
The exhibition brings together different perspectives on community and invites visitors to engage in conversation about it. What becomes visible are not only formal visual arrangements, but also the social dynamics behind them: moments that create closeness, strengthen connections, or mark boundaries.
“Human Song – Was uns zusammenhält” encourages us to look more closely—at encounters, relationships, and the subtle interplay that makes community possible. An exhibition about what holds us together.
Fourth and final part of the series “In the Picture – Archived and Contemporary Photography in Dialogue”

FROM HARLEM TO BERLIN, KINGSTON TO BASEL, Performative Lesung Audre Lorde
In the living room of the feminist library, interdisciplinary artist Jasmine Tutum will create a sensory space in which the texts of US-American poet, essayist and activist Audre Lorde (1934–1992, in her own words:’Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet’) can be experienced. The event is planned as a shared listening connection: there will be a 45-minute block of concentrated reading and listening, but visitors are invited to come and go as they please and engage with the texts on display in their own way and at their own pace. The reading will be held in English.

Europas Grenzen in der Sahara
📣 Europe’s Borders in the Sahara – Migration, Deportations, and Solidarity - With Azizou Chéhou (Coordinator of Alarme Phone Sahara in
Agadez)
Event: April 17 / 7:00 p.m. at Schuppen, Mattenstrasse 74/76
European border policies do not end at the EU’s external borders. Deals with states in North and West Africa aim to enforce repressive control over migration and flight far south of the Mediterranean coast—with disastrous consequences for people fleeing their homes. Thousands die not only in the Mediterranean or the Atlantic, but also on the routes through the Sahara. Alarme Phone Sahara (APS) works in Agadez and northern Niger to help people who find themselves in distress on these routes.
At this information evening, Azizou Chéhou will provide insights into these developments and the day-to-day work of Alarme Phone Sahara—from desert rescues and support for the deported to the political documentation of the consequences of European externalization policies. At the same time, the event explores perspectives on transnational solidarity against a regime that systematically violates human rights.
The event is part of the Three-Country Action for Borderless Solidarity, taking place on April 18 in Basel/Weil/Hunigue.
📣 Free admission, donations accepted
🚪 Doors open at 6:30 PM
🍸 Drinks available before and after the event for a donation
🗣️ Language: English, whispered translation into German available. Other languages upon request.
📣 Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible

Vernetzungstreffen Queerfeministischer Aktivismus @SP!T
Ag gender studies
How can we translate queer-feminist knowledge into action, and what might that action look like? How can we navigate the current global situation, build networks and gather strength? And what do we actually mean by resistance, solidarity and activism?
That is exactly what this event is about: four people with different activist backgrounds will share their experiences of queer-feminist activism in Basel. Afterwards, we want to come together in conversation, exchange ideas and encourage one another.
A cosy evening for anyone interested in exploring activism and queer feminism, organised by “Fachgruppe” Gender Studies.

Ghost Rider // Brunoï Zarn
Brunoï Zarn, usually seen with BOUCAN, is dropping by on his absolutely final solo tour at the Capri
A one-of-a-kind solo set somewhere between rock, electro, punk, and noise. Here’s how this 1-hour set has been described:
"Brunoï Zarn’s ‘Ghostrider’ is more like an inexplicable, noisy-electronic, psychotic natural phenomenon somewhere between electro and punk than a regular gig. Raw sonic chaos in its purest and most beautiful form. A truly eye-opening experience. That this wall of sound is also entirely danceable and never boring is simply astonishing. A unique story, that!"

Antirassistischer Stadtspaziergang in Basel
For a long time now, migrants and people standing in solidarity with them in Switzerland have been fighting against racism, police violence, and deportations—as well as against death and suffering at Europe’s external borders.
But all too often, these stories are forgotten. On a walk through Kleinbasel, we will commemorate these struggles and learn from them. People who were directly involved will share their memories and experiences.
Let’s remember together and pass on the lessons of these struggles!
